How to Hang and Remove Handy Hooks™

Learn how to install and remove Handy Hooks with step-by-step illustrations and video instructions using either our damage-free adhesive strips or the included hardware. Whether you’re mounting on drywall, tile, wood, metal, or concrete, Handy Hooks give you the freedom to hang items securely on any surface.

Mounting Method One

Damage-Free Adhesive

  • Step 1

    Clean and dry surface.

  • Step 2

    Remove adhesive front liner (with Wrap-It Storage logo) and stick strip to base.

  • Step 3

    Remove adhesive back liner (labeled "Wall"). Press hook onto wall for 30 seconds.

  • Step 4

    Slide hook up and off base. Press base for 30 seconds. This creates a strong bond.

  • Step 5

    Slide hook onto base. Wait at least 1 hour before hanging anything.

Tips for Best Adhesion

  • Clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol. For painted surfaces, use a 50/50 solution of isopropyl alcohol and water.
  • Use indoors at a temperature between 50ºF and 105ºF.
  • Adhesive is not recommended for wallpaper or textured surfaces.
  • Wait 7 days after painting before use.

Removal

  • Step 1

    Slide hook up and off base.

  • Step 2

    Gently hold base in place.

  • Step 3

    Pull the adhesive straight down. Do not pull toward you. Slowly stretch adhesive until it releases.

Mounting Method Two

Permanent Hardware

Option 1: Into Wall Stud

Before install, verify the wall layout for any concealed utilities or structural components.

  • Step 1

    Locate the wall stud.

  • Step 2

    Slide hook off base and position on wall. Mark the holes.

  • Step 3

    Install base with two screws, starting with the top hole.

  • Step 4

    Slide hook onto base. It's ready for use immediately!

Option 2: With Wall Anchors

Before install, verify the wall layout for any concealed utilities or structural components.

  • Step 1

    Slide base off hook and position on wall. Mark the holes.

  • Step 2

    Drill pilot holes for wall anchors.

  • Step 3

    Plug holes with wall anchors provided. If needed, tap in using a hammer or mallet.

  • Step 4

    Install base with two screws, starting with the top hole.

  • Step 5

    Slide hook onto base. It's ready for use immediatley!
