The grommet is the reinforced ring on the strap that lets you hang the wrapped bundle rather than stack it. Wrap the cord or hose, then slip the grommet over a hook, nail, or peg. The opening measures 0.63 inches, or 1.6 cm, and it is rust resistant, so it can stay outdoors or on a boat without corroding.
